What should you know about Euroline allergy test?

The test measures allergen-specific IgE in a blood sample. A positive result may show sensitisation, meaning your immune system recognises an allergen; it does not by itself prove that exposure causes your symptoms. A negative result can make a tested allergy less likely, although it cannot assess allergens that were not included and does not explain every cause of irritation.

Your clinician compares the panel with the timing of symptoms, examination findings and exposure history. Results may be discussed alongside conditions such as Allergic Rhinitis, Allergic Conjunctivitis, Asthma, Food Allergy, House Dust Mite Allergy or Pet Allergy. The test is different from an assessment of severe reactions such as Anaphylaxis.

Take the report to the clinician who requested it and review each positive finding against real-life exposure. Do not remove several foods or make major household changes solely because a panel is positive; unnecessary restriction can affect nutrition and make daily life harder. Keep a simple record of exposure, symptoms, timing and any treatment used.

Ask whether you need a focused test, supervised challenge or another explanation for the symptoms. If a confirmed allergy is suspected, agree on avoidance steps and an action plan before changing your routine. Never deliberately re-expose yourself to an item that has caused a serious reaction.

Call emergency services immediately for trouble breathing, throat or tongue swelling, faintness, widespread hives with vomiting, or rapidly worsening symptoms after exposure. These can be signs of Anaphylaxis and need urgent treatment; do not wait for a test appointment or result.

Arrange a prompt medical review for repeated wheeze, persistent nasal or eye symptoms, or reactions that are becoming harder to predict. Bring the report and your symptom record so the clinician can assess the pattern safely.
