Can you still have a period with an ectopic pregnancy?

In an ectopic pregnancy, a fertilised egg implants outside the main cavity of the uterus, often in a fallopian tube. Pregnancy hormones can still be present, so bleeding does not rule out pregnancy. The bleeding may be lighter, heavier, earlier, or different in colour or pattern from your usual period. Pelvic pain, especially on one side, can occur with it.
