Dry scalp and itchy head

Dandruff commonly presents with scalp itching and loose flakes. Seborrheic dermatitis can cause itch with redness and greasy scale. Scalp psoriasis may produce thicker plaques, while folliculitis causes tender, pimple-like bumps around hair follicles. Head lice can cause persistent itch, especially behind the ears and near the neck, with nits attached to hairs.
