Does IPL photofacial treat rosacea?

Rosacea can involve flushing, persistent central facial redness, visible small vessels, bumps, eye symptoms, or a combination of these features. IPL is chiefly considered for colour-related features such as background redness and surface vessels. It does not treat every rosacea feature, and treatment should be planned when the skin is calm enough to tolerate it.

Triggers such as heat, sunlight, spicy food, alcohol, or irritating skincare can continue to provoke flushing after treatment. A rosacea care plan may therefore include trigger awareness, gentle products, sunscreen, and prescribed treatment when needed.

Tell the clinician about flushing triggers, eye symptoms, active bumps, recent sun exposure, and all medicines or skincare products. Do not schedule treatment over sunburned or actively irritated skin. Use the recommended gentle routine and protect your face from sunlight during recovery.

Get medical advice for painful red eyes, light sensitivity, blurred vision, rapidly worsening facial swelling, or a hot tender rash. After IPL, report blistering, marked swelling, or pain that intensifies instead of settling.
