Does a gynaecological oncology perform loop excision of the cervix?

Loop excision of the cervix, known as LLETZ or LEEP, uses a thin heated wire loop to remove an area of abnormal cervical tissue. The procedure can both treat the visible abnormal area and provide a specimen for pathology. Gynaecologic oncology may be involved when the abnormality is extensive, difficult to assess, recurrent, or needs specialist interpretation. The referral reflects the complexity of the cervical finding and care planning, not a diagnosis by itself.

Bring prior screening, colposcopy, and biopsy results. Tell the clinician about pregnancy possibility, medicines that affect bleeding, allergies, and any previous cervical procedures.
