What should you know about copper coil induction?

A trained clinician places the device inside the uterus for contraception. Copper affects sperm movement and function in the uterus, reducing the chance of fertilisation. If you are pregnant, think you may be pregnant, or have been told you need labour induction, contact your maternity team rather than relying on information about coils.
