CIT Microneedling: What to Know Before Treatment

A trained practitioner passes a sterile device over prepared skin, creating tiny channels at a selected depth. The healing response can support smoother texture and softer-looking fine lines, while results develop gradually as the skin remodels. It is not the same as RF Microneedling, which adds radiofrequency energy, and it is different from Fractional Laser Treatment, which uses laser energy.

Before treatment, disclose active acne, eczema, cold sores, keloid tendency, recent procedures, allergies, and all medicines or products that affect healing. Arrive with clean skin and follow the clinic's instructions about sun exposure and active ingredients. Afterwards, use only the recommended gentle cleanser, moisturiser, and sunscreen; avoid picking, vigorous exercise, heat, swimming, and irritating products until the surface has settled.

Mild redness, tightness, sensitivity, and pinpoint crusting can occur after needling. Contact the treating clinic if swelling worsens, pain becomes significant, redness spreads, pus develops, blisters appear, or the skin becomes increasingly hot. Seek urgent help for facial swelling with breathing difficulty or symptoms affecting the eyes.
