Botulinum toxin type A reduces nerve signals to selected muscles. A clinician may consider it for a very active upper lip or movement-related lines, depending on your facial anatomy. The result is usually a subtle change in motion, not added fullness. It cannot correct every line, asymmetry, scar, or structural change, and the mouth area has little room for dosing errors.

Avoid judging the result immediately; early swelling or altered movement can change as the treatment settles.
