Early doses may be increased gradually and given with close observation. This helps the clinical team identify cytokine release syndrome, an inflammatory reaction that can cause fever, chills, low blood pressure, a fast heartbeat, or breathing difficulty. Neurological effects can include confusion, unusual sleepiness, tremor, trouble speaking, or loss of coordination.

Before each dose, report infection symptoms, new medicines, vaccination plans, numbness, weakness, or changes in thinking. The team may arrange blood tests and preventive medicines because BiTE therapy can affect blood cell counts and immune defences.

Keep the treatment unit’s contact details with you. Follow any instructions about staying near the hospital, having an adult companion, driving, and checking temperature after a dose. Do not manage a treatment-related fever with home remedies alone before contacting the oncology team.

Call the treatment team immediately for fever, shaking chills, dizziness, a racing heartbeat, new confusion, difficulty finding words, marked drowsiness, weakness, or poor balance.
