What should you know about bed bug bite on stomach?

Bed bug bites are usually small, itchy, raised marks that may appear in groups or lines on exposed skin. They do not cause gastroenteritis. Gastroenteritis commonly presents with nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, abdominal pain, reduced appetite, and sometimes fever. The presence of a bite does not identify the cause of digestive symptoms; food, viruses, and other infections may be responsible.

Wash the skin gently, avoid scratching, and use a cool compress for irritation. Wash bedding and clothing on a suitable hot cycle and consider professional pest control. For vomiting or diarrhoea, take frequent small sips of fluid and rest. Do not share towels or prepare food for others while unwell.

Seek medical advice for spreading redness, pus, severe swelling, or a painful skin reaction. Get prompt care for blood in stool, severe abdominal pain, repeated vomiting, high fever, or signs of dehydration such as very little urine, faintness, unusual sleepiness, or a dry mouth. Emergency help is needed for breathing difficulty or facial swelling.
