How quickly can anaphylaxis occur?

Anaphylaxis is a rapidly developing allergic reaction that can affect breathing, circulation, the skin, or the digestive system. Throat tightness, a hoarse voice, wheezing, persistent coughing, faintness, confusion, widespread hives, swelling, or repeated vomiting may occur in combination. A reaction can worsen quickly even when the first symptom seems mild. Improvement does not remove the need for observation because symptoms can recur without another exposure.

Use the prescribed adrenaline auto-injector immediately when anaphylaxis is suspected, following the device instructions, then call UAE emergency services. Do not wait for a rash, because dangerous breathing or circulation symptoms can occur without visible skin changes. Have the person lie flat with legs raised if tolerated; if breathing is difficult, they may sit with legs extended. Avoid standing or walking. If unconscious but breathing, place them on their side.
