Yeast infection in the folds of skin

Candida can multiply in areas such as the groin, under the breasts, or between overlapping skin. The area may look bright red, feel raw or burning, and develop small spots just beyond the main rash. Cracks, moisture, and rubbing can make discomfort worse. A fungal rash is not confirmed by appearance alone; contact dermatitis, bacterial infection, and other skin conditions may need different treatment.

Gently wash the area and pat it completely dry. Wear loose, breathable clothing, change damp garments promptly, and reduce rubbing. Avoid fragranced washes, deodorants, and steroid cream unless a clinician advises them.
