TENS means transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation. The device sends controlled pulses through adhesive electrodes, creating a tingling sensation that can alter how pain signals are processed. It is a comfort measure, not a repair for a torn structure, infection, fracture, or nerve disorder. Relief varies, and increasing the intensity is not a way to force better results. Read the device instructions, place pads on clean intact skin, and start at a low setting. Turn the unit off before moving electrodes. Do not place pads across the front of the neck, over the head, across the chest, on broken skin, or near implanted electronic devices.
