What should you know about white skin tag on tongue?

Skin tags usually arise from skin, while the tongue is covered by specialised moist tissue. A white area or projection there may instead reflect irritation, a traumatic fibrous bump, a coated surface, a wart-like lesion, thrush, or another oral condition. Appearance alone cannot separate these possibilities. Biting, a sharp tooth, dentures, tobacco, or hot food can keep a lesion irritated.
