When to worry about constipation with haemorrhoids

Haemorrhoids are swollen blood vessels around the anus or lower rectum. Hard stool, pushing, and sitting on the toilet for a long time can increase pressure in this area and cause itching, soreness, swelling, or bright-red bleeding. Constipation may also make it harder for irritated tissue to settle.
