Male pattern hair loss is a gradual process in which genetically sensitive follicles become smaller over time, often creating recession at the temples or thinning at the crown. PRP uses a patient's own processed blood components, injected into selected scalp areas. A clinician may discuss it when follicles are still producing some hair and the goal is to support density or slow visible thinning. It is not a substitute for confirming the diagnosis, because sudden, patchy, inflamed, or scarring loss needs a different evaluation.

Start with a scalp and hair history, examination, and medication review. Bring photographs showing how the pattern has changed and mention itching, scaling, pain, shedding, or family history. Discuss how PRP would fit alongside medical treatment, how many visits might be proposed, expected changes, discomfort, and maintenance.
