What is the first treatment for dermatosis papulosa nigra?

DPN causes small, usually harmless, dark or skin-coloured raised bumps, commonly on the face and neck. Treatment is optional when they cause no trouble. Before removal, a dermatologist examines the bumps because not every dark growth is DPN. Curettage and cautery removes a selected bump and uses heat to control bleeding; electrosurgery uses electrical energy and may be chosen according to the bump's size, position, and the clinician's technique.
