What is RF microneedling done with?

The handpiece contains multiple sterile, fine needles. Depending on the device and treatment plan, the needles enter a chosen depth before radiofrequency energy is released within the skin. This creates small areas of heat while leaving nearby tissue less affected. The aim is to support collagen remodelling and improve concerns such as uneven texture, enlarged pores, acne scars, or selected lines.

RF microneedling is different from ordinary microneedling because it adds radiofrequency heat below the surface. It is also different from a surface laser treatment, because the energy is delivered through needle tips at a planned depth. The exact settings depend on the body area, skin characteristics, and the concern being treated.

A consultation should cover your skin history, tendency to form raised scars, active irritation, cold sores, medicines, and recent procedures. Follow the clinic's instructions about retinoids, exfoliating products, sun exposure, and shaving. Arrive with clean skin unless the clinic tells you otherwise.

After treatment, expect temporary redness, warmth, swelling, or pinpoint crusting. Use only the cleanser, moisturiser, and sun protection recommended for your skin, and avoid picking or adding strong active products until the surface has settled. Ask whether makeup, exercise, swimming, or hair removal should be paused.

Contact the treating clinic promptly if pain, swelling, blistering, or redness is worsening rather than settling, or if the area becomes increasingly warm or develops drainage. Seek urgent medical help for facial swelling that affects breathing, widespread hives, faintness, or severe eye symptoms. A review is also sensible if dark or light colour changes persist or if healing seems delayed.
