What Happens If Hip Impingement Is Not Treated?

The altered shape or movement pattern can make the hip pinch during bending, turning, sitting, or sport. Ongoing irritation may cause groin pain, stiffness, or clicking. Some people adapt by reducing activity or changing how they walk, which can weaken the muscles that support the hip. Hip impingement does not progress in exactly the same way for everyone, and symptoms may fluctuate.
