What does vaginal itching feel like with trichomoniasis?

Vaginal Itching is a common presentation of Trichomoniasis and may occur with burning, soreness, or irritation during urination. The vulva can feel inflamed, and sex may be uncomfortable. Discharge may become more noticeable and can change in colour, texture, or odour. Some people have few symptoms, so how the itching feels cannot confirm or exclude this sexually transmitted infection.

Trichomoniasis is caused by a parasite that can irritate vaginal and vulval tissues. Burning when urine touches inflamed skin may feel different from deeper urinary pain, but both deserve assessment. Thrush, bacterial vaginosis, chlamydia, gonorrhoea, dermatitis, and product irritation can overlap with this pattern. A sexual health test is needed to identify the cause and guide treatment.

Severe pain, faintness, or rapidly worsening symptoms calls for urgent medical attention rather than waiting for symptoms to pass.
