What does painful skin feel like with shingles?

Painful Skin is a very common presentation of Shingles. The discomfort often stays on one side of the body in a narrow or band-like area. It may begin as sensitivity, itching, pins and needles, warmth, or deep aching before skin changes become obvious. Clothing, bedding, or a gentle hand on the area can feel unusually irritating.
