What does postural correction therapy treat?

Short answer
Postural correction therapy treats movement-related pain, stiffness and muscle imbalance associated with sustained or inefficient posture.
This answers one question. It is not a diagnosis and does not replace an assessment by a licensed doctor.

What the therapy addresses
A physiotherapist observes how your head, spine, shoulders, pelvis and limbs align during sitting, standing, walking and everyday tasks. Treatment may address a forward head position, rounded shoulders, an exaggerated upper-back curve, uneven loading or reduced control around the trunk and hips.
The work can help people whose symptoms are associated with Kyphosis or Text Neck. It may also be considered when altered shoulder, neck or upper-chest mechanics contribute to symptoms seen with Thoracic Outlet Syndrome. Posture is only one part of the assessment; pain can have several contributing factors.
What sessions may include
Your plan may combine mobility exercises for tight areas, strengthening for underactive muscles, breathing and trunk-control practice, ergonomic changes, and coaching for lifting, screen use or desk work. Short, regular practice often helps you notice and change habits during real activities. The aim is more comfortable, adaptable movement rather than holding one rigid position all day.
Bring examples of when symptoms appear, such as after driving, computer use, reading or carrying a bag. A therapist can then adjust the exercises and the work setup to your actual routine.
When to seek further assessment
Arrange medical assessment for new or worsening weakness, loss of coordination, persistent numbness, severe night pain, unexplained weight change, or symptoms after an injury. Seek urgent care for sudden weakness, trouble walking, loss of bladder or bowel control, or difficulty breathing.
Questions to ask
Which movement or task is contributing to my symptoms? Which exercises fit my examination, and how should I change my workstation or phone use? What signs would mean that posture is not the only issue?

Questions people ask
Will therapy permanently change my posture?
Results vary with the underlying cause, practice and daily demands. Therapy aims to improve control and comfort rather than promise a fixed result.
Do I need to sit perfectly upright?
No single posture suits every moment. Changing position regularly and building tolerance for useful positions is usually more practical than staying rigid.
