What it means
Anovulation means the ovary does not release an egg regularly. In some people with polycystic ovary syndrome, ovarian drilling is considered when ovulation medicines have not worked or are unsuitable. During keyhole surgery, the surgeon makes small openings in the ovarian surface using heat or another energy method. This can change ovarian hormone-producing tissue and may allow more regular ovulation for a period. It does not treat every feature of polycystic ovary syndrome.
