What does first-time seizure feel like with brain tumour?

First-Time Seizure is a very common presentation of Brain Tumour, but it can also have other causes. Before or during an event, a person may experience a strange smell, flashing lights, a rising feeling in the stomach, twitching in one area, staring, or a gap in awareness. A larger seizure may involve stiff muscles, jerking, a fall, and confusion or sleepiness afterward.

A brain tumour can irritate or compress nearby tissue and interrupt the organised electrical activity that supports movement, sensation, speech, or awareness. The symptoms can reflect the tumour's location, but the sensation is not a reliable way to identify its cause. Clinicians may use the history, examination, brain imaging, and other tests to investigate.

Keep the person away from stairs, traffic, water, and hot surfaces. Place something soft under the head, remove glasses, and turn them onto their side when practical. Do not hold them down or put anything in their mouth. Time the seizure and observe recovery. A first seizure needs prompt medical evaluation, even if the person appears well afterward.

Call emergency services if the event lasts several minutes, follows another seizure without recovery, causes a serious injury, or the person has breathing difficulty. Get urgent help for persistent confusion, new weakness, a severe headache, repeated vomiting, or a change in speech or vision. Do not drive yourself if you are still affected.
