What does a neck lump feel like with cancer of unknown primary?

Neck Lump is a common presentation of Cancer of Unknown Primary, but its texture alone cannot identify the cause. It may feel firm, rounded, or less mobile than nearby tissue, and it can be painless. Some people notice one swelling; others feel more than one enlarged area along the side of the neck.

Cancer of unknown primary means cancer cells have been found, often in a lymph node, while the original site has not yet been identified. A neck lump can also result from infection, inflammation, a benign growth, or another condition. A clinician may examine your mouth, throat, skin, and neck, then arrange imaging or a tissue sample to learn what the cells are and where they may have started.

Arrange a medical assessment for a lump that persists, enlarges, feels hard, or is joined by other changes.
