Frequent infections can mean illnesses that return, last longer than expected, or are harder to clear. They may involve the chest, skin, mouth, throat, or other areas, and can occur with ongoing tiredness, fever, night sweating, swollen glands, or unintended weight loss. These features have many possible causes, including other infections and medical conditions. Some people with HIV infection have few or no noticeable symptoms, so the pattern of illness cannot confirm or exclude it.
