What does fever feel like with meningitis?

The fever may feel like intense heat with chills, sweating, weakness, or aching. The person may develop a severe or unusual headache, a stiff neck, dislike of bright light, vomiting, confusion, or unusual sleepiness. Some people develop a rash that does not fade when pressed, but a rash may be absent. Meningitis can worsen quickly, and symptoms do not always appear in the same order.
