What Does CO2 Laser Resurfacing Treat?

A CO2 laser delivers concentrated energy to water-containing skin cells. Depending on the settings, it vaporizes a controlled surface layer or creates narrow treatment columns surrounded by untreated skin. This can smooth rough texture, soften some lines, and remodel the appearance of selected scars.

Specialists may also use it for certain benign lesions, including Rhinophyma, Sebaceous Hyperplasia, Syringoma, or Xanthelasma. Diagnosis matters before treatment because a lesion that changes, bleeds, or is uncertain may need a different evaluation.
