What does abdominal pain feel like with Inguinal Hernia?

An inguinal hernia can cause a bulge or heaviness near the groin, sometimes extending toward the scrotum. Discomfort may increase when coughing, lifting, standing for a long time, or having a bowel movement, and ease when lying down. The area may feel tender or tight. Pain without a visible bulge can still need assessment, while abdominal pain alone has many possible causes.

A clinician can examine the area while you stand and cough and decide whether further care is needed.
