What are the symptoms of hodgkin lymphoma?

A swollen lymph node is often noticed in the neck, above the collarbone, chest, or armpit. It may feel firm and not be tender. Some people develop repeated fever, heavy night sweating that soaks clothing or bedding, reduced energy, or weight loss without trying. Persistent itching can occur without an obvious rash. Cough, chest discomfort, or breathlessness may occur when enlarged lymph nodes affect structures in the chest.

Arrange an appointment if a lymph node remains enlarged, especially when it is painless, firm, or growing, or if night sweats, fever, itching, fatigue, or unexplained weight loss continue. Record temperatures, sweating episodes, changes in weight or appetite, and any new lumps. A clinician may examine lymph-node regions and order blood tests or imaging; further testing is guided by the findings.

Seek urgent help for severe breathlessness, chest pressure, sudden confusion, fainting, or difficulty swallowing caused by swelling. Seek prompt medical advice for persistent fever with marked weakness or for symptoms that worsen quickly. Emergency assessment is appropriate when breathing is compromised, regardless of the cause.
