Ways to get rid of threadworms

Threadworms are small intestinal worms. Eggs can collect around the anus, especially overnight, and reach the mouth from unwashed hands or contaminated bedding, clothing, towels, and surfaces. Scratching can spread eggs under fingernails, allowing reinfection or transmission to people sharing a home. Itching around the anus is typical, while disturbed sleep, abdominal pain, or bedwetting can also occur.

Wash hands with soap after using the toilet and before eating; keep fingernails short and avoid nail biting.
