What should you know about vincent angina caused by?

High blood pressure, smoking, diabetes, cholesterol problems and a family history of heart disease can increase strain on blood vessels. Angina may feel like pressure, squeezing, heaviness or tightness in the chest, and discomfort can spread to the arm, neck, jaw or back. Symptoms can also appear with emotional stress or cold air. A symptom does not identify its cause by itself; assessment is needed.

Arrange a medical assessment for new, repeated or changing chest symptoms. A clinician may review your history, examine you, check blood pressure and arrange an electrocardiogram. Take prescribed medicines exactly as directed, and do not start or stop heart medicines without advice. Keep a note of triggers, duration, associated breathlessness and what relieves the discomfort.

Seek emergency help for chest discomfort that is severe, new, persistent or occurring at rest, especially with breathlessness, sweating, faintness, nausea or pain spreading to the arm, jaw or back. Do not drive yourself if you may be having a heart emergency.
