Short answer

Vectus is a diode-laser hair-removal system that heats selected follicles to reduce future hair growth over a treatment plan.

This answers one question. It is not a diagnosis and does not replace an assessment by a licensed doctor.

How Vectus works

The system delivers laser energy absorbed by pigment in the hair and follicle. Cooling and contact with the skin are used to make energy delivery more tolerable and protect the surface. Results vary with hair colour, thickness, skin tone, body site, hormones, and the timing of the hair-growth cycle.

Laser hair removal may also be discussed for problems linked with shaving or excess hair, such as ingrown hairs, razor bumps, or hirsutism. It does not diagnose or treat every cause of unwanted hair, and recurrent boils or draining areas need assessment for conditions such as hidradenitis suppurativa.

Preparing for sessions

Tell the clinic about tanning, active skin disease, medicines that increase light sensitivity, pregnancy, scarring history, and prior reactions. Follow instructions about shaving and avoid plucking or waxing if advised, since removing the follicle can reduce the treatment target.

After a session, follicle-centred redness, warmth, or small bumps may occur briefly. Use gentle care, avoid picking, limit sun exposure, and apply recommended protection. Do not judge the whole plan from one visit; the clinician may schedule sessions around hair growth and review the skin response.

When to seek care

Report blistering, severe pain, spreading redness, marked swelling, or lasting light or dark colour change. Urgent review is needed for fever, pus, rapidly worsening tenderness, or an extensive reaction.

Questions to ask

Ask whether Vectus suits your skin and hair, what preparation is required, how cooling is used, which body areas need special care, how ingrown hairs will be managed, and what reaction should trigger a call.

Questions people ask

Does Vectus stop all hair immediately?

No. Hair grows in cycles, so treatment is planned across sessions and reduction develops over time.

Can laser hair removal help ingrown hairs?

Reducing the hair that curls back into skin may help some people, but persistent or infected bumps still need clinical assessment.
