Underarms smell remover products: choosing safely

Odour is produced when bacteria act on sweat and skin substances. Deodorants may mask smell or make the underarm less favourable for odour-producing bacteria, but they do not necessarily reduce wetness. Antiperspirants reduce the flow of sweat at the skin surface. Fragrance-free options may be easier to tolerate if your skin stings, flakes, or darkens after use.

Apply antiperspirant to clean, fully dry skin, often in the evening if the label advises it, and follow the product directions. Do not apply over broken skin or immediately after shaving if it irritates you. Introduce one new product at a time so you can identify a reaction. Stop a product that causes persistent burning, swelling, or a spreading rash. Wash clothing regularly because fabric can retain odour even after the skin is clean.
