What should you know about under arm skin tags?

A skin tag, also called an acrochordon, often appears in a skin fold and may rub against clothing, jewellery, or the opposite arm. It can be smooth or slightly wrinkled and may match the surrounding skin or look darker. A doctor should confirm the diagnosis if it is firm, broad-based, crusted, bleeding, painful, rapidly enlarging, or unlike your other growths.

Do not tie off, cut, freeze, or burn an underarm growth at home. The area can bleed, become infected, or develop a noticeable scar, and an incorrect diagnosis may delay appropriate care.
