What should you know about ultrasound mesotherapy?

A clinician applies a prepared product to cleansed skin and moves an ultrasound handpiece over the treatment area. The sound-wave energy creates mechanical movement and gentle warming, which can help the product interact with the superficial skin layers. The method is different from mesotherapy injections because it does not place a needle-based cocktail directly into the skin.

The result depends on the product, skin concern, treatment settings, and your baseline skin condition. Temporary warmth, tingling, mild redness, or sensitivity can occur. Ultrasound mesotherapy is not a substitute for diagnosing a rash, infection, or persistent pigmentation.

Tell the practitioner about active eczema, cold sores, broken skin, recent procedures, implanted electronic devices, allergies, and medicines that affect your skin. Arrive with clean skin and follow instructions about pausing irritating products such as strong exfoliants or retinoids.

After treatment, use the recommended bland moisturiser and sunscreen, avoid picking or scrubbing the area, and wait before returning to heat, intense exercise, or fragranced products if your clinician advises this. Contact the treating clinic if redness, swelling, burning, tenderness, or a rash is worsening rather than settling. Seek urgent medical help for facial swelling with breathing difficulty, widespread blistering, faintness, or signs of a severe allergic reaction.
