Types of Pimples

Blackheads are open clogged pores; whiteheads are closed clogged pores. Papules are firm red bumps, while pustules contain visible pus. Nodules and cysts feel deeper and may be painful, with greater potential for lingering marks.

Many patterns occur with Acne, but look-alike conditions exist. Folliculitis often centres on hairs. Razor Bumps can follow shaving. Hormonal Acne may cluster around the lower face and vary with hormonal changes. Perioral Dermatitis tends to form small bumps around the mouth, while Rosacea can combine red bumps with flushing.

Cleanse gently, avoid scrubbing and squeezing, and choose products labelled non-comedogenic if they suit your skin. Change one new product at a time so irritation is easier to identify.
