What should you know about tiny little red moles on skin?

A cherry angioma is a small collection of surface blood vessels that can look bright red, maroon, or darker when deeper in the skin. It may be smooth or slightly raised and can occur on many parts of the body. Friction can make one bleed. Colour alone cannot identify every red skin mark, so a clinician may inspect it with magnification, especially if it is new or unlike your other spots.

Several spots may appear over time, and they can be more noticeable on the trunk, arms, or other exposed areas. A red mark that looks different from nearby spots deserves individual attention rather than comparison with photographs online.

Leave the spot alone and protect it from repeated rubbing, shaving cuts, and sun exposure. Do not tie it off or burn it at home. If it catches on clothing or is cosmetically bothersome, a dermatologist can discuss removal after confirming the diagnosis. Options may include pulsed dye laser treatment or electrosurgery; the choice depends on size, depth, location, skin type, and bleeding tendency.
