Tildrakizumab and Psoriatic Arthritis: What to Know

Psoriatic arthritis can cause joint pain, swelling, stiffness, tendon symptoms, and changes around the fingers or toes. Tildrakizumab blocks interleukin-23, an immune signalling protein involved in psoriasis inflammation. Skin improvement does not automatically mean that joint inflammation is controlled. The clinician choosing treatment considers your joint pattern, skin symptoms, previous medicines, infections, other health conditions, and treatment goals.

Joint pain, joint swelling, and morning joint stiffness are useful symptoms to record. Persistent inflammation can affect movement and function, so medication decisions should be guided by a rheumatology review rather than by skin symptoms alone.

Take tildrakizumab only as prescribed and keep scheduled reviews so joint and skin response can be checked. Tell the prescribing team about fever, ongoing infection, tuberculosis exposure, recurrent infections, allergies, pregnancy plans, and all medicines or supplements. Do not start, stop, or combine immune treatments without medical advice. Anti-inflammatory medication may help symptoms for some people, while physiotherapy can support joint protection, strength, and movement; these choices need to fit your diagnosis and other medicines.

Contact your treatment team promptly for fever, a worsening infection, unusual weakness, a spreading rash, facial swelling, or breathing difficulty after a dose. Seek urgent help for severe breathing trouble or signs of a serious allergic reaction. Arrange review for a hot, very swollen joint, rapidly worsening pain, new eye pain or vision change, or stiffness that increasingly limits daily activities.
