Syringoma under the eye: what to know

Under-eye syringomas are often skin-coloured, yellowish, or slightly darker than nearby skin. They feel firm and may occur as several closely grouped bumps beneath the lower eyelid or beside the eye. They are commonly a cosmetic concern rather than a painful problem.

The eyelid is thin and close to the eye, so milia, xanthelasma, warts, and other lesions can look similar. A clinician considers texture, color, distribution, and any change over time rather than relying on a photograph alone.

Avoid squeezing, scraping, or applying strong acids to the bumps. These actions can injure the eyelid and leave redness or pigment change without removing the deeper tissue. Use gentle products and protect the surrounding skin from sun exposure.
