Sun Damage on Face

A recent exposure can cause warmth, tenderness, redness, tightness, peeling, or blisters; these are features associated with Sunburn. Repeated exposure can contribute to rough texture, uneven colour, fine lines, and other changes described under Sun-Damaged Skin. The nose, cheeks, forehead, ears, and lips often receive substantial exposure.

Move out of direct sun, cool the skin gently, drink fluids, and avoid rubbing or peeling loose skin. A bland moisturiser or Emollient Therapy can reduce dryness and tightness. Do not put ice directly on the skin or break blisters. A clinician may consider Topical Corticosteroids for selected inflammatory situations; use them only as directed. Cover exposed areas and use sunscreen once the skin can tolerate it.

Seek prompt care for extensive blistering, severe swelling, intense pain, fever, vomiting, confusion, faintness, or signs of dehydration. Arrange assessment when a facial area repeatedly peels, remains tender, or develops a persistent rough or changing spot after the burn settles.

Ask whether the problem is Sunburn or a longer-term change, which products are safe near the eyes and lips, whether a blister needs review, and when to restart your usual skincare routine.
