What should you know about sule hair transplant?

Short answer

A hair transplant moves follicles from a donor area into thinning or bare areas, but a consultation must first identify the cause and pattern of hair loss.

This answers one question. It is not a diagnosis and does not replace an assessment by a licensed doctor.

How the procedure works

During surgery, a clinician removes individual follicles or a strip of skin from a donor region, commonly the back or sides of the scalp, and places grafts into planned recipient sites. Temporary tenderness, swelling, scabs, and shedding of transplanted hairs can occur while the scalp heals. New growth takes time and may not match the density of childhood hair. Active scalp disease, limited donor supply, or ongoing untreated loss can affect the plan.

Preparing and recovering

Bring a complete medication list and describe when the loss began, whether it is patchy or diffuse, and any itching or scaling. Follow instructions about washing, exercise, sleeping position, and sun exposure after surgery. Avoid pulling at grafts and attend the planned review. Medical treatment may be discussed to help protect existing hair; transplantation replaces selected follicles but does not address hair loss from other causes.

When to seek care

Call the clinic if bleeding does not settle with the advised pressure, pain is escalating, or the scalp develops spreading redness, pus, or fever. Seek prompt assessment for sudden patchy loss, scarring, or a painful inflamed scalp before considering surgery. A receding hairline or bald patch can have different causes, so diagnosis matters.

Questions for your doctor

Ask which pattern is causing your loss, whether the donor area is adequate, how grafts will be distributed, and what happens to untreated hair. Clarify the aftercare plan, likely visible changes during healing, and whether another treatment should come first.
