What should you know about sudden diarrhea sweating fainting?

Short answer
Sudden diarrhoea, sweating, and fainting need urgent assessment because fluid loss, low blood sugar, heart rhythm problems, or other illness may be involved.
This answers one question. It is not a diagnosis and does not replace an assessment by a licensed doctor.
At a glance
- After a faint
- Lie flat, protect the airway, and arrange urgent medical advice.
- Possible drivers
- Fluid loss, low blood sugar, rhythm disturbance, bleeding, or infection can overlap.
- Emergency signs
- Chest pain, breathing trouble, confusion, injury, or black stool need emergency help.
What this combination can mean
Diarrhoea can reduce circulating fluid, and sweating may add to that loss. A faint can occur when the brain briefly receives too little blood flow, but the trigger is not always simple dehydration. Low blood sugar, anaemia, an irregular heart rhythm, bleeding, severe infection, heat exposure, or a medication effect may also cause collapse or near-collapse. A person who fainted needs assessment even if they feel better, especially when the event was sudden or unexplained.
What to do immediately
If someone feels faint, have them lie flat and raise their legs if there is no injury or breathing problem. Turn them on their side if they are vomiting, and do not give food or drink until they are fully alert and able to swallow. Note the duration of the episode, injuries, palpitations, chest symptoms, stool appearance, medicines, and whether diabetes or a heart condition is present. Arrange urgent medical advice after any faint.
When to call emergency services
Call emergency services for ongoing unconsciousness, trouble breathing, chest pain, a new irregular heartbeat, seizure-like movements, severe injury, confusion, weakness on one side, blood or black stool, or repeated fainting. Emergency care is also needed with severe abdominal pain, very little urine, cold clammy skin, or inability to keep fluids down. Do not let the person drive themselves.
Questions for your doctor
Ask whether you need an ECG, blood pressure checks, blood tests, or glucose testing. Describe what happened immediately before the faint, your position, warning sensations, recovery, stool changes, fluid intake, and all prescribed or non-prescription medicines.

Fluid and salt loss from diarrhoea can contribute to fainting, but a faint may have other causes and should be assessed.
What should I do if the person is still unconscious?
Call emergency services, check breathing, place them safely on their side if breathing, and do not give anything by mouth.
