Stretch marks in the groin area

The groin, pubic region and upper inner thigh can change with puberty, pregnancy, weight fluctuation, muscle growth or hormonal shifts. Fresh striae may be red, purple, pink or brown and can itch; older lines commonly become paler and slightly indented. Friction, sweat and tight clothing can make nearby skin uncomfortable, but they do not create an infection inside a stretch mark. Keep the area gently clean and dry, choose breathable clothing and avoid scrubbing or scratching.
