How to manage hyperhidrosis

Short answer
To manage hyperhidrosis, track triggers, keep skin dry, and discuss prescription or procedure-based treatments with a clinician.
This answers one question. It is not a diagnosis and does not replace an assessment by a licensed doctor.

How excessive sweating behaves
Hyperhidrosis may affect the palms, soles, underarms, face, or several areas. It can occur in a similar pattern on both sides and may begin without heat or exercise. Moisture can soften skin, cause odour, and increase friction. Heat Rash, Intertrigo, and Tinea Versicolor can occur in persistently warm, damp folds, but a rash does not by itself establish the cause of sweating.
Treatment and daily measures
Wear breathable clothing and change damp socks or garments promptly. Dry skin folds carefully and use absorbent materials where friction is a problem. A clinician may suggest Prescription Antiperspirant, Iontophoresis, Botulinum toxin injections, or Microwave Sweat Gland Treatment. Each option differs by body site, treatment schedule, sensation, and possible side effects; selection should follow an examination and discussion of medical history.
When to seek care
Book an assessment when sweating is new, worsening, occurs during sleep, affects one side, or interferes with work, sleep, or social activities. Seek urgent care for sudden heavy sweating with chest discomfort, faintness, severe breathlessness, confusion, or weakness.
Questions for your doctor
