An eyelid lesion may appear as a lump, crust, ulcer, thickened edge, bleeding spot or area that does not heal. These signs can also come from irritation, infection or another tumour, so appearance alone cannot identify the cause. A veterinarian may inspect the eyelid and eye surface, then recommend a sample or removal for laboratory examination. Protecting the cornea and preserving comfortable blinking are central to planning.
