What should you know about spots on arm from sun?

Small rough or flesh-coloured bumps can form when sweat, friction, sunscreen, or hair follicles become irritated. Red, tender, or pus-filled bumps fit inflammation around a follicle; this pattern can occur with Folliculitis or Acne. Flat tan or brown marks may be pigment left after irritation, while a scaly patch or a spot with an unusual border needs direct assessment. Sun exposure can make existing colour differences more noticeable, but it does not identify the cause by itself.

Wash gently, avoid picking or scrubbing, and use clean loose sleeves when friction is a trigger. Choose broad-spectrum sunscreen and reapply as directed, especially during outdoor activity. Stop any new product that stings or causes a rash. Photograph the area in consistent lighting so you can notice genuine change. A clinician can distinguish a follicle problem from pigment and may suggest a suitable topical treatment; LED Light Therapy is not a diagnosis or a replacement for that assessment.

Arrange a skin review if a spot changes in size, colour, shape, or texture; bleeds, crusts, ulcerates, or repeatedly reopens; or remains scaly despite gentle care. Seek prompt medical advice for rapidly spreading redness, marked warmth, severe pain, fever, or swelling. Do not rely on sun exposure as an explanation for a new or changing lesion.
