What should you know about small skin tag on eyelid?

A typical tag is soft, flesh-coloured, and may project from the eyelid edge or nearby skin. It can rub with blinking, catch during cleansing, or become irritated by cosmetics. Not every eyelid bump is a tag: a blocked eyelid gland, cyst, wart, mole, or another lesion can look similar. A clinician will consider the exact position, surface, growth pattern, lashes, and eye symptoms before recommending care.

Do not cut, tie, freeze, burn, or squeeze an eyelid lesion, and keep acids or wart products away from the eye. Avoid rubbing and pause makeup if the area is irritated. Use clean hands when touching the eyelids. If removal is appropriate, a trained clinician can discuss skin tag removal and whether electrosurgery or cryotherapy is suitable; the method depends on the lesion and its distance from the eye.

Arrange review if the lesion grows, changes colour or outline, bleeds, crusts, loses nearby lashes, or repeatedly becomes sore. Even without these symptoms, a new eyelid growth should be checked before cosmetic treatment.
