Follow the discharge plan for wound care, medicines, walking, lifting, driving, and returning to sex. Gentle movement can help circulation and bowel function, while fluids and fibre may help constipation if your clinician says they are suitable. Arrange follow-up if pain, dryness, sleep problems, or mood changes continue. Discuss whether hormone treatment or local vaginal treatment is appropriate, especially if your ovaries were removed.

Contact your surgical team promptly for heavy bleeding, worsening pain, fever, foul-smelling discharge, wound redness or separation, difficulty passing urine, or a swollen painful leg. Seek emergency help for sudden breathlessness, chest pain, fainting, or coughing blood.

Ask which organs were removed, what symptoms are expected at your stage of recovery, when activity can increase, and whether your current symptoms need examination. You can also ask about bone health, vaginal symptoms, and support for changes in mood or sleep.
