What should you know about Septodont local anaesthetic?

Local anaesthetic is placed near the area being treated, often around a nerve or within tissues. It temporarily interrupts pain signals while you remain awake. The clinician chooses the product, amount and injection site according to the procedure, your health history and the tissues involved.

Numbness can spread beyond the exact treatment point and may be followed by tingling as sensation returns. Tell the team about previous reactions to anaesthetic, allergies, heart rhythm problems, pregnancy, and medicines that affect bleeding or blood pressure.

Before treatment, provide a full medicines and allergy history and mention any previous fainting or unpleasant reaction during injections. During the procedure, report ringing in the ears, a metallic taste, unusual dizziness, palpitations, breathlessness or rapidly developing swelling.

Afterward, protect the numb area from heat, pressure and accidental biting until normal feeling returns. Follow the instructions for the procedure being performed.
